Our last academic week has come to an end! We made it through E-learning and did it wonderfully! I am so proud of all of your kids for their hard work and dedication these last few weeks and this whole year too!
I wanted to say thank you to all the parents for your help and support throughout the year. Without you guys, the year would not have ran as smoothly as it did. I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers this year! I’m especially thankful that I had the opportunity to have your child in my class and to have many experiences with them as well! I won't be doing another blog post but I may send another email or two to help with communication about dropping off/picking up supplies. Next Week: Please have students continue to check their emails on Monday and Tuesday morning. Mrs. R and I have some end of the year activities/surveys that we would like them to participate in! Most are optional, but if they are bored, it would keep them entertained! We do want them to fill out the awards survey and the end of the year survey too. DROP OFF/PICK UP END OF THE YEAR ITEMS: If you haven't seen the email about drop off yet from Mrs. Schmidt, let me know and I can forward it to you. 6th Grade parents are to drop off/pick up on June 1. Last names starting with A-F will go from 4:00-4:30, G-M 4:30-5:00, N-R 5:00-5:30, S-Z 5:30-6:00. Please let me know if you have questions about these times. In addition to any supplies mentioned in the All School email from Mrs. Schmidt, these items listed below are the specific books Mrs. R and I are looking for: STUDENT ITEMS TO RETURN TO ZION
STUDENT ITEMS TO KEEP AT HOME
Please consider donating leftover school supplies to summer camp like crayons, markers, and glue. Boxes will be at the exits for you to drop off these needed supplies. Have a fantastic summer and good luck to your now seventh graders!! They grow up so fast!

Wow! I am overwhelmed by your love and support this week and throughout our virtual learning. I am so grateful for the awesome parade put on Thursday night so that I could see my kiddos and tell them I miss and love them so much! Thank you so much parents for bringing them to me. It meant a lot! Thank you for all of the chocolates, cakes, cookies, flowers, gift cards and other goodies! Your appreciation is truly felt. I am so blessed to be able to share in the growth and nurture of your children. I love and miss them all!!
As Mr. Debrick’s email indicated our last day of e-learning is May 15. As one bright 6th grader figured out, his teachers don’t give homework on Fridays, so our last assignments go out on THURSDAY!! A couple of notes for you this week:
Mrs. R had internet problems and I didn't even have Internet at my new house until Wednesday! Please understand that teachers are totally flexible! I am adjusting for students who are at a grandparent’s house without internet or who are helping with younger siblings while mom/dad work. All of us know this has been such an unusual way to learn and teach. We are making forward progress! We are growing in ways we never knew we needed to grow! I am talking more personally with kids than we ever may have in the classroom. I even gave them a tour of my new house which I know I wouldn't have done if it was a normal school year!
Look for a school email Monday with End of the Year information: turn in books, pick up supplies, graduation information, etc. One note on grading – a decision was made to not count Art, PE, Spelling, Memory, band/music/choir for the 4th quarter. If something was entered from the first week of the quarter, it will “disappear” from Sycamore. Scholastic Book Orders I will place one last book order on Monday. It’s a great way to stock up on summer reading! See our class code and the link on the right. LIVE CLASSES Next week
