What a fun-filled week to end the year with a bang! My wonderful little 6th graders have now grown to be not-so-little 7th graders. I am so proud of each and every one of them for the accomplishments and achievements they made this year. It was truly a blessing to get to know them all and to be their teacher. I will miss them dearly!
To the Parents: Thank you so much for your support and encouragement this year. I appreciated the hard work on both ends to help your child grow. Thank you for your prayers, notes, and time spent helping your child. It was a wonderful yet crazy year! God's blessings on your summer! Chapel Update: Please tell your kiddos we COMPLETED OUR CHAPEL GOAL THIS YEAR!!! Our final chapel yesterday brought in just over $2,300 which means we reached a little over $11,000 in chapel offerings this year! We originally started our goal at $5,000 and when we quickly reached that, we decided to double it. And we hit it on the last day of school! So proud of our kids and helping others in need. :) Links: May 20 Field Trip Photos Athletic Video

Our field trip was a success! We had a lot of fun being together and learning about the Veterans of the Vietnam War and the first Lutheran settlers in Missouri.
We started out at the Missouri's National Veterans Memorial where we got to see an exact replica of The Wall of Veterans' names that gave their lives in war. The first one is in Washington, D.C. and Missouri now has the first exact replica! We learned about fallen soldiers, Prisoners of War, and the importance of the wall. Next we went to one of the first Lutheran churches in Altenburg. We learned about the immigrants coming to Missouri and saw a lot of cool stuff in the museum including old organs! We also were able to search through our ancestry and learn about our family trees. Then, we took our charter bus to the Saxon Memorial. After a great lunch break, we experienced what life was like when the first settlers came to Missouri. We churned butter, shelled corn, and wittled some wood. The kids did a great job on the field trip. They were very well behaved and had a fun time being together. I liked going on this trip at the end of the year because it is one of our last big chances to spend quality time together! I will miss them!! Thanks to the parents who chaperoned and helped make the day run smoothly!! AR is due Monday by 3pm!!! Double check to see if your child has all of their points because it is worth 1/3 of their Lit grade! NO HOT LUNCH The last week of school, students will need to pack a cold lunch. Mrs. Boettcher will have some goodies for sale as we clean out the kitchen for the summer. The Final Three Days: Monday May 23

This week was very exciting. We got to go and watch the 1-3 grade musical. It was called the Bible Tells Me So Show. All of us had tons of fun learning about some bible stories. It taught us all about the people in the bible. We also had our science project due this week, and we also raised money for the kids in Cambodia. We also had best choice and we learned all about the different body parts. ~ Duncan and Madison
I can't believe we only have 2 weeks left! I so enjoy working with your children and I have seen them grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. We are packing in the last 8 days with lots of learning along with memory making moments and fun! See your daily email from this week for the topics we discussed in Best Choice. I pray these can be good discussion moments for you at home. Upcoming Science Unit: Just a heads up, students will need to collect random supplies from home for our next Science unit. Start collecting toilet paper tubes, aluminum foil, cotton swabs, pipe cleaners, tooth picks, etc. More information will come this week. I will provide a lot of supplies but it would be good if they bring their own stuff too! What's Happening in 6th grade:
