On Monday we had Choir and P.E. and on Tuesday we had a snow day! On Wednesday we had Chapel, Choir, and P.E. On Thursday we had Advent practice, Band, and Music. On Friday we painted our Christmas art project and we had a Social Studies debate on whether the Great Lakes has improved or if it hasn’t improved. ~ Chase and Olivia
Thursday was World Cup Stacking Day which is held every year and our sixth graders were eager to participate! I took lots of photos so be sure to check them out below! They had cup stacking relay races, giant cup stacking, tiny cup stacking, battle cup stacking, and a cup "ball" pit. It was awesome! Hopefully we helped contribute to breaking the world record of number of people to cup stack in one day! For Art on Friday we continued our Christmas Art for the Christmas Art display that Junior High puts on. The students will be displaying a message centered on Christ with images to support the message. The students started painting with acrylics to make their piece stand out even more. Mark your calendar to stop by the JH Christmas Art display in the main school building Dec. 10th (after 9:00 a.m.) and 11th. Our Current Units: Religion: We have begun our study of the New Testament! Student's got into our textbooks with a look at the Kairos of God - his just right time for sending us a Savior, a perfect tie into the coming Advent season. Check out the Religion tab above for more details. English: Finishing verbs and will finish our opinion essays next! Science: Cell Processes and Energy - first up, photosynthesis! Literature: Finished short stories and moving to a novel next. THANKSGIVING DRIVE For the Seminary is Wednesday, Nov. 20. Junior High is asked to donate Non-Food Items – Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Lotion, Body Wash, Shampoo, Conditioner, Sponges, Cleaning, Supplies, Kitchen Supplies, etc. All is appreciated!
